Today, I want to share my experience with magnesium floating offered by the Satori Center in Slovenj Gradec. Why have I categorized floating as a holistic experience? Because it has a positive impact on the body, emotions, and thoughts, and it’s not an everyday experience readily available. Moreover, this blog aims to be informative, helping you gather as much information as possible for total relaxation.
In this post, you will learn what floating is, the benefits it offers, and I will also share my personal experience from my almost regular visits to Satori.
Floating is a relaxation technique performed in a special pool filled with magnesium. The amount of magnesium salt allows the body to float on the water’s surface, similar to being in a weightless state. During floating, sensory inputs are reduced, enabling deeper relaxation. There are floating chambers and floating pools. I haven’t floated in a chamber yet. However, Helena, the owner of the Satori Center, told me that she and her husband preferred a pool instead of a chamber so that people coming for floating sessions don’t feel confined. Thus, the pool offers more space around and above oneself.
Magnesium floating brings positive effects on the body, emotions, and thoughts. Magnesium in the water has relaxing properties. During floating, the body relaxes, muscle tension decreases, and a deeper connection with oneself is established. This experience also calms emotions, aids in stress management, and helps with anxiety and depression. It encourages clear thinking, creativity, and concentration. Additionally, regular floating can improve sleep quality and increase the body’s overall resistance to stress. Magnesium absorbed through the skin contributes to a better mineral balance in the body, supporting bone health and the cardiovascular system.
I always look forward to my floating sessions, as Helena always creates a welcoming environment, and after floating, she offers delicious tea. Floating is a unique experience; it’s never the same, as we are never in the same state. My favorite is when I’m in complete darkness, in silence, and in a meditative state. I often fall asleep. I usually choose a 60-minute session, but I’ve also tried a 2-hour session, and it was excellent. If possible, I book my session a few days before the start of my menstruation to recharge with magnesium.
To all who seek a natural path to deeper relaxation and mental peace, I highly recommend trying floating. It will not only strengthen your body but also unveil a new dimension of inner peace and harmony.
